Payment, Cancellation, and Refund Policy for Paid Services

This Payment, Cancellation, and Refund Policy (“Policy”) applies to all paid services (“Services”) provided by Hidden Tokyo: A Guide to Yanesen (Yanaka, Nezu & Sendagi) (“we,” “our,” or “us”), including cultural tours, guiding, and related experiences.

 

1. Payment Terms

  • Payment for Services must be made in advance using the designated methods.

  • Prices are displayed in Japanese Yen (JPY) unless otherwise specified.

  • Reservations will only be confirmed after full payment is received.

 

2. Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • More than 7 days prior to the scheduled service: Full refund.

  • 3–6 days prior: 50% refund.

  • Within 48 hours prior to the scheduled service or no-show: Non-refundable.

  • If we must cancel due to severe weather, natural disasters, or other force majeure events, a full refund will be issued.

  • Refunds will be processed within 10 business days via the original payment method.

 

3. Participant Requirements

  • Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • Participation may be denied if health, safety, or behavioral concerns arise.

  • Guests must comply with local cultural norms and follow the guide’s instructions.

 

4. Limitation of Liability

We strive to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences, but we are not liable for:

  • Accidents, injuries, or illnesses during the Service, unless caused by our gross negligence.

  • Loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.

  • Delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

 

5. Compliance with Japanese Law

  • All Services are provided in accordance with the Japanese Travel Agency Act and the Interpreter Guide Act.

  • Our guides are licensed National Government Licensed Guide Interpreters, as required by Japanese law.

6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
